I really don’t remember most of my immunization shots.  I was too young and the ones I do remember aren’t memories that I’m really excited dwell on.  I have been “immunized” so that I can go to school, travel and most recently to immigrate.  I even have a record of immunization declaring that various diseases will have

If you haven't heard/read/seen this news story, here's a link

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/28678669/

What an incredible story!  I don't know the statistics on plane crash survival but I'm pretty sure everyone surviving isn't the norm.  From the accounts I've read the pilot did an oustanding job in guiding the jet down without power to the river which was really his only option.  Someone should give that man the week off (with pay).

Seriously, thank you, Chesley Sullenberger!

Not to minimize the story itself in anyway or the feelings of the people who went through what I'm sure was complete and total terror, I am really curious about the reactions people are having to this.  The above link uses the phrase, "Miracle on the Hudson", to describe the event.  "Miracle" as in God did something supernatural or "miracle" like that was an amazing but very natural event.

There are definitely natural, logical factors that came into play to save the lives of all of the passengers.  The pilot...

I believe it was Tuesday when the deed was done.  I did something that I have been wanting to do for nearly three years now.  I finally added a key to my key chain!

Isn't that exciting? (This line is in honor of one of my valiant Czech Republic travel-mates who just had a beautiful baby girl!)

Maybe it would help if you knew that the key opens the doors to the new building being constructed to serve as a wonderful new tool for WayPoint Church.

The church building isn't complete yet... but it will be.  God has brought us this far - the evidence of His hand on this body is undeniable.

I try the key on one of the main doors and fiddle with it for a bit.  Seems to be sticky.  Never fear, there's a second door to the right... I'll try that one.  Success!  The doors are opened and I'm free to walk through the building and see the progress that's been made.  It's cold in here.  It's cold and there is nothing but sheet-rock and concrete to look at.  It really is encouraging to see the progress,...

What makes a story news worthy to you?  Occasionally as I digest the "news" either online or on TV I catch myself wondering, "why exactly do I need to know this information?"  Does it increase my understanding of where I live?  Does it have practical implications for me?  Should (now should is always a loaded word) I have an emotional response to this story such as compassion or possibly anger?

Why do I need to be so well informed about sin in other people's lives?  And if celebrity "A" breaks up with celebrity "B" and starts going out with celebrity "C" while "B" moves on to celebrity "D" and "B" and "C" get in a tabloid fight are they still only 6 degrees from Kevin Bacon???  (Don't try and figure that one out ).  Let's be serious here, some folks might find this entertaining but it isn't news.

In watching/reading the news I've recently learned the following:

It isn't illegal for a teacher to have sex with a student if the student is 18 or over according to state law....

Have you ever been talking to someone about something you were both interested in and then the conversation shifts unexpectedly?

It was later on during that same day as we sat in the comfort of our warm living room that the snowfall began to subside and we decided to accept the invitation to “hunker down” with our friends, the Smiths.  By “hunkering down” what I mean is dropping off the family while my good friend, the husband and father of the Smith home but who shall remain nameless at this juncture, and I jumped into his four

Thursday, December 18th began much like other winter mornings in the South Puget Sound with one exception.  The forecast was for snow to hit during the day and typical of a region where snow is not a daily occurrence, school was cancelled based on what was to come.
