There is a cavernous abyss whose depths have not been fully probed and whose outer limits are left unchallenged.  Generations have been both amazed and fearful upon witnessing its magnitude as if they'd just lived through a cataclysmic event, and perhaps they have.  They are left speechless and quite possibly in financial distress.  They have encountered the teenage boy's appetite.

I reflect upon those days with giddy delight.  I truly could eat several square meals in a day without any worries.  Dealing with young men's appetites ended up being a community effort including the families of several of my good friends.  My friends were always welcome in my home with the very least of notice and if it landed around a meal time (as it often did) my mom knew just how to make the meal s - t - r - e - t - c - h.  The same was true of my friend's homes.  We were growing up together and invested into each other's lives.  I thank the Lord each day for Bert (Corwin), Billy, Jason, Jeremy, Mark and Chad (I hope I didn't leave anyone out).  God used these friends in significant ways to form the person I am now.  I also thank God that our parents were so very gracious and trusting and that they never hesitated to leave their doors open.  Either on purpose or by accident a culture was fostered that allowed us young men to have a truck load of fun and to grow spiritually as well.

Enough reminiscing.  My teenage experience reminds me of something that I think we all desire.  All of us want to be connected and encouraged.  We want people and places where we can be ourselves without judgment and yet experience the safety of someone calling our bluff and setting us straight when necessary.  As I read my Bible I am convinced that I need to connect with other men, women and children to learn and to teach.  My front door needs to be open for you and I hope that I would not be too intrusive if I were at yours.

I also need to leave my schedule open.  What good is an open door if no one has the time to stop by?  What good are intentions if they never birth actions?  All of us probably  have 14,000 (that's a random and large number) things clamoring for our time and attention in a given week.  Maybe part of living a life pleasing to the Lord includes leaving time to live life together.  Summer is just around the corner...  the Bible, a barbeque and a beverage would do nicely!

"Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another--and all the more as you see the Day approaching."   Hebrews 10:25 (NIV)

Be Well!

Sometimes Office 2010, in Windows Vista using Office2007/2003 to Microsoft Office open the Microsoft Office 2010 original article written by a lot of fonts Office 2007 can not display properly: the italics and somehow Microsoft Office 2010 Professional change the text in italics, the article spacing increases, and the layout is also an error Acrobat 9, originally shown on this page change to the next page Microsoft Office 2007 of text for no reason, how Microsoft Project Professional 2010 is this going on. Tips 1: Use a good Document Map If the long title of the document built, the Microsoft Office 2010 Home & Student directory structure of the Adobe reader style, you can in the use of "Document Map" feature for fast browsing and jump, but the default settings of the feature has not Office 2007 Professional been enabled Microsoft Project 2010, you can "View → Document Microsoft Visio Professional 2010 Structure map "sub-menu, select" Left "or" keep right "display the document structure diagram. This Microsoft Office 2010 Home & Business is to select "Left" in effect Office 2007 Ultimate, need to see a long document, the contents of a chapter, directly select the chart in the document Microsoft Visio 2010, and then the right side of the window will automatically display Microsoft Office 2007 Home and Student relevant content, the default will show all levels, if you are feel that this is Adobe Acrobat too messy, you can click the Project 2010 "Show Level" button from the drop-down menu, select the need to show the level, and then immediately enter into force, can Visio 2010 be said to be very convenient Adobe Acrobat 9 Professional.
